To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, and to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ;
to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places, according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him. (Eph. 3:8-12)
The Purpose And Promise of God • "Before The World Began" • "Since The World Began" • "In The End of The World"
The Purpose And Promise of God • “Before The World Began” God already existed.
“Before The World Began” • God already existed. LORD, You have been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, Or ever You had formed the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God. (Psalm 90:1-2)
The Purpose And Promise of God • “Before The World Began” God already existed. God gave us His grace.
“Before The World Began” • God gave us His grace. Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God, who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began. (2 Tim. 1:8-9)
The Purpose And Promise of God • “Before The World Began” God already existed. God gave us his grace. God promised us eternal life.
“Before The World Began” • God promised us eternal life. Paul, a bondservant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect and the acknowledgment of the truth which accords with godliness, in hope of eternal life which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began. (Titus 1:1-2)
The Purpose And Promise of God • “Before The World Began” God already existed. God gave us his grace. God promised us eternal life. God ordained the death of Christ.
“Before The World Began” • God ordained the death of Christ. And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one's work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in fear; knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.
“Before The World Began” • God ordained the death of Christ. He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you who through Him believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God. (1 Peter 1:17-21)
The Purpose And Promise of God • “Since The World Began” God's promise was kept secret.
“Since The World Began” • God's promise was kept secret. Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery kept secret since the world began
“Since The World Began” • God's promise was kept secret. but now has been made manifest, and by the prophetic Scriptures has been made known to all nations, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, for obedience to the faith-- to God, alone wise, be glory through Jesus Christ forever. Amen. (Rom. 16:25-27)
The Purpose And Promise of God • “Since The World Began” God's promise was kept secret. God's prophets hinted at His promise.
“Since The World Began” • God's prophets hinted at His promise. "Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,
“Since The World Began” • God's prophets hinted at His promise. "and that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before, whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began.
“Since The World Began” • God's prophets hinted at His promise. "For Moses truly said to the fathers, 'The LORD your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your brethren. Him you shall hear in all things, whatever He says to you.
“Since The World Began” • God's prophets hinted at His promise. "'And it shall be that every soul who will not hear that Prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people.' Yes, and all the prophets, from Samuel and those who follow, as many as have spoken, have also foretold these days." (Acts 3:20-24)
The Purpose And Promise of God • “Since The World Began” God's promise was kept secret. God's prophets hinted at His promise. Even God's prophets did not understand.
“Since The World Began” • Even God’s prophets did not understand. Of this salvation the prophets have inquired and searched carefully, who prophesied of the grace that would come to you, searching what, or what manner of time, the Spirit of Christ who was in them was indicating when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow.
“Since The World Began” • Even God’s prophets did not understand. To them it was revealed that, not to themselves, but to us they were ministering the things which now have been reported to you through those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven—things which angels desire to look into. (1 Peter 1:10-12)
The Purpose And Promise of God • “In The End of The World” Christ hath appeared to put away sin.
“In The End of The World” • Christ hath appeared to put away sin. For Christ has not entered the holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us; not that He should offer Himself often, as the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood of another—
“In The End of The World” • Christ hath appeared to put away sin. He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. (Heb. 9:24-26)
The Purpose And Promise of God • “In The End of The World” Christ hath appeared to put away sin. God's eternal purpose is being realized.
“In The End of The World” • God's eternal purpose is being realized. And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, "In you all the nations shall be blessed." So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham.
“In The End of The World” • God's eternal purpose is being realized. For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them."
“In The End of The World” • God's eternal purpose is being realized. But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for "the just shall live by faith." Yet the law is not of faith, but "the man who does them shall live by them."
“In The End of The World” • God's eternal purpose is being realized. Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree"), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
“In The End of The World” • God's eternal purpose is being realized. Brethren, I speak in the manner of men: Though it is only a man’s covenant, yet if it is confirmed, no one annuls or adds to it. Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, "And to seeds," as of many, but as of one, "And to your Seed," who is Christ.
“In The End of The World” • God's eternal purpose is being realized. And this I say, that the law, which was four hundred and thirty years later, cannot annul the covenant that was confirmed before by God in Christ, that it should make the promise of no effect. For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no longer of promise; but God gave it to Abraham by promise.
“In The End of The World” • God's eternal purpose is being realized. What purpose then does the law serve? It was added because of transgressions, till the Seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was appointed through angels by the hand of a mediator. Now a mediator does not mediate for one only, but God is one.
“In The End of The World” • God's eternal purpose is being realized. Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law. But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
“In The End of The World” • God's eternal purpose is being realized. But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed. Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
“In The End of The World” • God's eternal purpose is being realized. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
“In The End of The World” • God's eternal purpose is being realized. Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all, but is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the father. Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world.
“In The End of The World” • God's eternal purpose is being realized. But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.
“In The End of The World” • God's eternal purpose is being realized. And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, "Abba, Father!" Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. (Gal. 3:8-29; 4:1-7)
The Purpose And Promise of God • “In The End of The World” Christ hath appeared to put away sin. God's eternal purpose is being realized. The promise is for those who obey.
“In The End of The World” • The promise is for those who obey. Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart, having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever. (1 Pet. 1:22-23)
“In The End of The World” • The promise is for those who obey. How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?
“In The End of The World” • The promise is for those who obey. And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!"
“In The End of The World” • The promise is for those who obey. But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our report?" So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Rom. 10:14-17)
“In The End of The World” • The promise is for those who obey. ...though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him.... (Heb. 5:8-9)
“In The End of The World” • The promise is for those who obey. And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned." (Mark 16:15-16) Have you obeyed Jesus Christ? Won’t you obey Him now?
