  2. How much, and how often, you feed your puppy is completely up to you, with the advice of your veterinarian, of course. Scheduled feedings are the best method.

  3. Nutritional needs of small breed puppies Small dogs have a faster metabolism than large dogs, which means they need more calories, proteins and fats on their diet.

How often do you feed a puppy? • Puppies should be fed three to four times a day. • At six months you can start feeding your puppy twice a day. • Scheduled feedings can make house training easier for you and your pup. • How much and how often you need to feed your puppy depends on his age, weight and breed.

  5. If you want to switch your puppy food you should do that gradually. Mix the old food with the new one, slowly decreasing the amount of old food and increasing the amount of new. This should take about a week or more.
