Alignment of the BCAL for 98/99 e- Data C. M. Cormack (RAL) SFEW 26/10/99 NOTES: • Since August 98 all 98/99 e- and e+ data have the 97 post survey geometry GAFs. These GAFs include the shifted BCAL and the shifts in the FCAL. • However num98t0.1 funnel version has the old geometry GAFS ie those used for 97 (pre survey). • Num98t0.2 also does not have all the shifts correctly inserted. • Checks need to be done as to which shifts are needed and whether they should be applied to the MC or the data or both! Calorimeter Shifts and changes to the GAFs: BCAL shifted 0.5 cm towards the RCAL. Shifts in modules of the FCAL from 97 CAL survey
RCAL BCAL Alignment of the BCAL for 98/99 e- Data C. M. CORMACK A. KAPPES +Z Difference of the track z position at DCA to the Calorimeter ELECPO position Monte Carlo used : num98t0.1 MC num98t0.1 DATA Need to shift the BCAL by 0.50 cm towards the RCAL in MC
Alignment Study Conclusions • Shift in the BCAL position in DATA is as expected therefore those running with 98/99 e- need to run with new MC GAFs. • If the survey results are established then: • FCAL shifts need to be applied in MC to reproduce the features seen in the DATA. • NEW 98 MOZART version expected end of November Studies Underway on the Alignment 1) Resurvey the detector? 2) FCAL study from Bruce Mellado using J/psi
