Big Question My Science topic is my Turtle will go faster to one point in land or in water. Here is my research to show that this will not harm my Turtle. Every Turtle will not get harmed out of water because it is a land and water. The turtle will not get harmed because the sun is a basking resource. A basking resource is the light that will help the animal get heat for its body. Turtles can’t produce its own body heat therefore it would be helping it not harming it.
Hypothesis Hypothesis My Hypothesis is if a Turtle travels the same distance in water and land, it will go faster in water. It will go faster in water because it can use all four legs at the same time to propel itself. • My Hypothesis is if a Turtle travels the same distance in water and land, it will go faster in water. Step by Step Procedure Step by Step Procedure Step 1. You fill a bathtub up with 6 inches of water. Step 2. You take your turtle and place him/her on to one end of the bathtub. Step 3. Get a stopwatch and get ready to start timing the turtles speed. Step 4. Start timing when the turtle starts to move. Step 5. When the turtle gets to the other rend of the bathtub stop the timer you are using. Step 6. After the first time try two more times. Step 7. When you are done timing put the turtle back into its habitat and record the data on to a piece of paper. • Step 1. You fill a bathtub up with 6 inches of water. • Step 2. Data Data My data for water is 1st time: 9 seconds 2nd time: 18 seconds 3rd time: 24 seconds My data for land is 1st time: 4 seconds 2nd time: 8 seconds 3rd time: 10 seconds
Analysis Analysis My analysis is NO it Did not test my Hypothesis! It did not test because of the outcome in my experiment. My Hypothesis was that it would go Faster on land than on water and it Didn’t.
Conclusion My conclusion is NO my hypothesis isn’t correct. My questions are will Putting a fish pellet make the turtle Go faster? And why didn’t the turtle Go faster in water than on land? The thing that I would change would Be putting a fish pellet at the end of the Tank
