  1. When I go to bed I lie as quiet as a mouse, And listen to the friendly noises drifting round the house. The far off sound of talking and the creaking of the floor, Music from the radio, The Banging of a door. The sound of people’s footsteps as they walk along the street, Clicks and creaks and rumbles as the radiators heat. Cups and saucers clinking as they’re washed and put to dry, Barking dogs and yowling cats, the buzzing of a fly. The rumbling sound of traffic and a sudden noisy laugh, Splashing from the bathroom as my sister has a bath.
