How do fish breathe? Fish get oxygen from the water that flows through their gills, which are slits along the sides of their heads.

How Do Ocean Mammals Breathe? • All ocean animals need oxygen to live. • Whales and dolphins get oxygen from the air. They need to come up to the surface of the water and breathe air through a hole on the top of their heads called a blowhole.
