  2. Our Goal • To conduct an investigation on the quality of the water sources available to YOU at school • To reduce the consumption of plastic water bottles • To raise environmental awareness!

  3. What we did… • Calculated the number of water bottles sold at the kiosko every year. • Preformed a chemical analysis, to determine the contents of the water available at school. • Created an online survey regarding the school’s water sources and their usage. • Arranged a taste test experiment to find which water source the student body thinks tastes the best.

  4. Water sold at the Kiosko This means that about4,000 water bottles are consumed at the Kiosko every school year! • NOT including amount of Coca-Cola products or juices sold

  5. Chemical Analysis Results • Samples sent to Aguas Argentinasto be professionally tested: • Fountain Water • Tap Water • Villavicencio (Bottled Water Sold at Kiosko) • Fountain and Bottled Water are approved potable sources • Tap has a slightly high level of lead

  11. Conclusion • From this study we have found that most students: • Do not regularly reuse the bottles from the kiosko (for logical reasons) • Drink water from fountains at school • Preferred the taste of water from the fountains at school

  12. Our Proposal • To lower the amount of water bottle consumption at school by: • Raising awareness of the problems that disposable water bottles pose to the environment • Sell durable reusable bottles that can be refilled at fountains • Add a tap of filtered water to either the student center or kiosko area to increase convenience
