Diabetes in Nuneaton & North Warwickshire • Total population = 180,000. • 6000 with diabetes* : 3.3 % prevalence • 800 with type 1 • 5200 with type 2 • 1400 attend GEH clinic : “2000” in 2004 • 500 with type 1 • 900 with type 2 * 2005 retinopathy screening target
GMS2 Diabetes Quality & Outcome Framework • 18 quality indicators • 14 process • 4 outcome • Points per indicator : 3 – 17 • For example : • If > 90% had eye examination in last 15 months = 5 points • If > 50% with HbA1c < 7.4 = 16 points • Total points achievable = 99
