The Business of HUD • The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is a cabinet level agency in the executive branch of the Federal Government. • Primary Functions: Increase Homeownership Opportunities, Promote Decent Affordable Housing, Strengthen Communities and Ensure Equal Opportunity in Housing.
