KaTRIn project Nuclear target polarization. First key methodical result have been obtained recently in collaboration with KENS group: Xe gaseous target at low pressure was polarized successfully at several percent level. Next step should be increasing Xe pressure and degree of polarization at acceptable level of relaxation time This work is planned for nearest 1,5 years

Scientific Highlights of 2001 – 2004 UCN physics and neutron optics • UCN weak upscattering • Neutron interaction time • Time focusing Direct n-n scattering length measurements
Applied studies HEND has 4 signals of neutrons from sensors SD, MD, LD and SC/IN, and for each of them the map of orbital measurements is currently produced. The map of MD sensor is contributed by epithermal neutrons mainly left (top). This MD map is consistent with the map for epithermal neutrons from Neutron Spectrometer (bottom) Count rate over the South Pole is 5-10 times lower (blue region) – doubtless water presence
