CBU - Digestive Diseases • Digestive Diseases has a procurement savings target of £260k • 26 Schemes have been identified to deliver target • Four major schemes will help deliver the savings target:- • Power Tools • Trauma and Orthopaedics • Spinal Surgery • Ophthalmic Surgery
Orthopaedic Power Tools • Replacement of 20 sets of power tools at CMTC • No capital funding available • NHS Supply Chain Leasing Contract utilised to secure funding
Orthopaedic Power Tools • Following clinical evaluations Stryker power tools procured via NHS Supply Chain • Price secured was £150k cheaper than nearest competitive bid • Overall delivered saving to the trust:- £52k per annum
Trauma & Orthopaedics • Hip Cost Reduction (Depuy Synthes Commitment) • Knee Cost Reduction (Zimmer Commitment) • Bulk Purchase of Knee and Hip • Competitive tendering of Trauma portfolio • Leverage across contract portfolio • Overall saving to the trust:- Over £100k per annum
Spinal Surgery • Standardising on single spine provider • 2 new spine consultants at the Trust • Competitively tendering for Bio-Materials • Overall saving to the trust:- £70k per annum
