  2. Introduction Architects plan and design buildings such as homes, schools, office towers, and other structures.
  3. Nature of Work Make designs for buildings, bridges, roads, etc. Use computer programming to make blueprints and models of structures Use drawings and make physical models Use advanced mathematics and physics
  4. Work Conditions Work in Architectural Firms, Government Agencies, Real-Estate Companies 7-8 hours a day, 5 days a week 12 hours a day, 6 days a week
  5. Qualification, Advancement, Training Qualifications Co-ops (internships) for three years during the summer while getting your degree Count as a summer semester of college 5 year Bachelors Degree and/or an addition of 1-2 years for a Masters Degree 3 years of supervision under a licensed Architect Training Architecture programs architectural design, history, theory, technology, professional practice, math, and science Must pass a series of professional exams known as the Architect Registration Examination (ARE) Advancement 1st Internships earning $35,000 - $60,000 annually 2nd Licensed Architect earning $55,000 - $100,000 annually 3rd Job Captain/ Licensed Architect earning $65,000 - $120,00 4th Manager/ Associated Architect earning $75,000 - $300,000 annually

  9. Summary I chose to be an Architect because I like math and physics. I think it will be a fulfilling job to see the structure that I helped make become a reality. Designing buildings, bridges, and schools seam very interesting to me. After researching this career I still want to become an Architect.
