Diplomas & Relationships Between Institutions • Statutory - by 2013 ALL pupils in schools have to have “access” to all 17 diploma lines. • A diploma will take up 40% of the school week. Schools will be sending pupils to host schools/colleges OR hosting pupils if they are a delivery partner.
Diplomas & Relationships Between Institutions • No school is likely to have the resources or facilities to cater for all 17 diploma lines so COLLABORATION with other schools and colleges will be essential. • 14-19 Partnership networks have been established in the South/Central, East and North North-West of the borough.

Implications? • At any one time students in schools could be following a “traditional” GCSE/GCSE equivalent route OR taking a Diploma (with some GCSE’s) OR undertaking a Young Apprenticeship OR following the Engagement Strategy OR taking Foundation courses OR being part of the Increased Flexibility Programme OR doing Work Experience!! • Options processes, therefore, need to be undertaken with even more care
What About The Timetable? • Croydon schools have agreed that from September 2008, there will be “common” timetabling on TUESDAYS & THURSDAYS to allow the various “pathways” to be accessed. • “Core” subjects will have to be timetabled on three days, leaving two days for options subjects and the other routes.
