PartyHopper because three’s not a crowd Alex Murphy, Dan Berman, Eliza Hanson, Gurkaran Singh, Michael Levine CS65 – Spring 2013
The Need • Dartmouth students lead complex social lives with hundreds of connections – it’s impossible to keep track of your friends! • How can you conveniently monitor where not only your friends are, but also where the rest of campus is? • Texting is too slow, it’s too loud to call: you heard Heorot was having a party, but is it worth walking across campus? CS65 – Spring 2013
The Concept • Party Hopper keeps tabs on your social life when you go out at night. • Continuous sensing monitors where you and your friends are, and what’s going on around you. • Bluetooth co-location senses where groups of people are gathering, the microphone detects music, and you review the party CS65 – Spring 2013
The App • Party Hopper tracks your social life over time – your Partyrhythm • Compare stats with your friends, and see how you stack up against the rest of campus • Individual stats collected include location, accelerometer data (dancing, pong) and Bluetooth co-location • Party stats – in real-time see what’s going on, who’s there, and what people are saying CS65 – Spring 2013
