    13. 13 : 06 June 2012 New children’s centre Surrey County Council has plans for a children’s centre based on three sites – Town Farm Junior School, the new Health Centre and the Youth Centre. The brand new children’s centre in Stanwell aims to help children, parents and the whole community. It will provide education, care, family support and health services all together. Some of the services will be available as early as April 2007

    14. 14 : 06 June 2012 New purpose built health centre The Surrey Primary Care Trust is working with the existing health centre practice and others to build a brand new, modern health centre. It will provide up-to-date quality services for people living in Stanwell. Built on the site of the Day Centre, it will have a library, the Citizens Advice Bureau, community café as well as a range of clinics and testing facilities. The project is well underway and we hope building will start in January 2007. Shared facilities / children’s centre

    15. 15 : 06 June 2012 New skills’ centre The Surrey Care Trust plans to help hundreds of people with training in essential skills, like bricklaying and carpentry. Young people from all Spelthorne’s schools will benefit particularly with a practical addition to their studies. There will be a Saturday programme, run with the Surrey Area Probation team. This will be for people sentenced to do community work and will help them get their lives back on track. Taster courses will be run next summer before the centre opens fully in September.

    16. 16 : 06 June 2012 Stanwell library The Stanwell Library and Information Service will temporarily be in a vacant shop unit in Clare Road from January 2007. This newly fitted-out unit will provide the same selection of books, talking books, DVDs and newspapers as now. A separate meeting room will be available to continue the daily help and advice surgeries, including Citizens Advice Bureau, advice on housing, housing benefit and Council Tax.
