This encompasses the development of transmission layer related standards foraccess, metropolitan and long haul sections of communication networks. • Lead Study Group on: • Access Network Transport (ANT) • Optical Technology
Network Access SG 15 Work Program • Question 1/15 (WP 5/15) • Access Network Transport • Focus on Lead Study Group activity • Question 2/15 (WP 1/15) • Optical systems for access networks • Focus on B-PON; G-PON • Question 4/15 (WP 1/15) • Transceivers for customer access and in-premises phone line networking systems on metallic pairs • Focus on xDSL
Optical systems for access networks • Work started in 1996 • B-PON related Recommendations • G.983-series • 8 Recommendations (basic; mgmt.& ctrl.; serv. cap.) • 2 Recommendations consented April 2004 (mgmt. & ctrl. I/Fs) • G-PON related Recommendations • G.984-series • 3 Recommendations approved (basic; phys. media dependent layer; transmission convergence layer) • 1 Recommendation consented April 2004 (mgmt. & ctrl. I/Fs)
