Basic Conditions for Participation -Rules for Double Degree Students • Must complete 61 ECTS for 1st academic year • Must study 10 optional credits next semester • Must pass all required/compulsory courses in your first year! • Tuition fee is paid to the IB Program (not the partner school) & must be paid on time!
Things to be aware of if you’re a Double Degree Student • You will need to return to Prague for the State Exams & possibly to defend your thesis. • Students should be aware that DD participants are not eligible for the honors diploma. • Be aware too that it may be impossible for you to finish all the requirements in time to graduate in June. • One semester financial support from VSE
Things to think about when deciding on DD program and which program is of interest • Country – VISA – students arrange on your own • Courses offer – prearranged with DD partners • Details vary by university • Financial aspects • Cost of living • Additional fees – vary by partner school • Special criteria of the partner schools
Important Dates • Application Deadline: 21 February 2013 • Decision deadline: 15 March 2013 The application form is available on the IB website in the section for 1st year students!
Application & Selection Procedure • Application is available on the IB website: • Found in the section for 1st year students • Turn in the printed application to the IB Office / Mrs. Krejci • Selection is based on Grade Point Average – Study Results • Interview • Selection of Participants & Alternates • Students confirm their interest in participation • VSE starts nomination process with partner universities • Partner universities notify us on acceptance of students
Process Information for selected / accepted students • Follow instructions of partner university -> registration to the system -> registration for the accommodation -> sending required documents (i.e. Bc.documents, confirmation of the 1st year IB study) • Follow instructions of the International Office/IB office -> Learning agreement -> Financial agreement -> Final report at the end of the study abroad
University Jean Moulin – Lyon 3 • EBR Program • M.Sc. European Business Realities, a specialization of the M.Sc. in Int’l Management • Financial assistance – 473€/month • Max # of places: 5 • 2 Semesters: Mid-Sept – April • Business & economics majors preferred • Classes usually b/w 8-18; Sat poss too! • French not required but VERY useful! • More details from Eric Bonato…
International University in Geneva • Master in International Business (MIB) program • Financial assistance – Approx 13,000 CZK / Mo • # of places: 1 • Requires a 3.0 GPA (US system) • Organized as an “Executive Program” – Classes are in “modules” & held during the evening • Academic year of 4 quarters (10 weeks each): you should expect to be there for a full year. September start.
