Second Career Anyone thinking of second career as an option please keep in mind that there is a lot of prep work and wait time involved before you even find out if you’ve been accepted, so now would be the time to come in and speak to one of our on site career counsellors. You don’t want to wait until your EI claim has run out. • Second Career provides up to $28,000 for: • Tuition • Books • other instruction costs such as manuals or workbooks • transportation • a basic living allowance • Additional support may be available to accommodate the needs of people with disabilities, dependent care, costs of living away from home and academic upgrading. Testimonial I want to say thank you for all of the assistance and moral support you have given me. I have been able to come to the center not only to do different workshops and job search but also to see former co-workers and catch up with everyone. You also set me up with a career counsellor through VPI where I was able to complete some workshops which were informative. The center has a children’s area which my boys love dearly and on more than one occasion they have asked that we go to the center because everyone makes them feel welcome.I was able to get my sons dental work taken care of because you made me aware of programs available and for that we thank you. Sincerely,Amanda St Aude Success Story This month the action centre is happy to share the success of Anne Ritchie. Anne came into the centre late one day to get help with her resume. She had an amazing job prospect and needed help to tailor her resume to the job. She sat down with one of the staff members and we are happy to say she has a full time position and is very happy to be back at work. Congrats Anne, you deserve it!!!
