Placements You will be asked to identify preferences for placement circuits. You will be expected totravel to different areas to gain the best practice experience.
Your Application – What we look for • Totality of the application • GCSE: Five GCSE grades C or above, must include English, Maths and a Science • A levels: 300 UCAS tariff points (minimum 160 points from two A levels). Preference given to human biology and study within last 5 years. • Apply before all qualifications are obtained
Your Application – What we look for • Non Standard Academic Qualifications e.g. • BTEC National Certificate or Diploma in a Science or Health related subject or Access to higher education • Applications from those returning to education are welcome • For non-postgraduate applications evidence of academic study in the last five years is required • We look at GCSE grades
Personal Statement • Demonstrate an interest and knowledge of Child Health nursing • Evidence of related work experience • Demonstrate evidence of good communication skills • Ability to care for others and empathy • Additional experience to enhance the application e.g. voluntary work • Problem solving and use of initiative
Reference • Referees must complete the pro forma sent by the university • Ability to study/work independently and in groups • Willingness to learn and ability to complete the programme • A supportive reference
Selections Days • Applicant whose qualifications, personal statement and references score highly will be invited to attend a nursing recruitment day. • These days consist of: • A written assessment • An oral communication assessment.
