What I was told… • We are going to attend the General Convention… • Very important people will be discussing very important things… • To make very important decisions… • …and you will witness it all!
“9 days… but we will arrive earlier and stay one day after it ends” Mom How long will it last?
In the middle of the action… With thousands of participants and special guests The place quickly turned into a behive of activity!
Some highlights… My Dad interviews the Presiding Bishop Katherine JeffertsSchori 4th of July from our hotel room!
People I met… World renowned plastic artist Enedina Vazquez With Rev. Canon Anthony Guillen Head of Hispanic Latino Ministries During a meeting at the House of Deputies
Places I visited… Indianapolis Museum of Art “Love” – Robert Indiana Indianapolis Museum of Art “Geometry of Light” – Alyson Shotz Indianapolis Museum of Art African Art Indiana Historic Center
Treasures to enjoy… “Quest for the West” – Arturo Chavez “Fireworks of Glass” – Dale Chihuly I built a teepee… …and rode “The Iron Pony”!
Treasures to enjoy… Even saw soldiers from Ancient China!
Treasures to enjoy… From ancient Egypt... to mythical dragons! I even learned how to restore historical documents!
Things that I learned… • Diversity is a blessing! • It is not wise to eat shellfish so far away from the ocean! • If you keep your eyes open, you’ll find treasures all around you! • Indianapolis has a lot more than just agriculture and race cars! • The Episcopal Church is all about a race… the human race! • My Episcopal Church is like a big family • I learned new song, new prayers and made many new friends • It is not easy to manage the Episcopal Church.! I also learned that you can use seeds To teach about the Scriptures and our responsibility towards our fellow human beings
What a cool city! • The cleanest streets! • You can walk almost everywhere thru covered bridges… • The museums are awesome! • The Cathedral is breathtaking! • You can ride a bike, take a tour on a Segway, ride a gondola or a paddleboat… • (But be careful… you may be run over by a bike!) Thank You Indianapolis!
