  2. What is Famine and Where is it? • Famine is extreme and general scarcity of food in a country or in a large geographic area. • Famine is found in Ethiopia, Eritrea, Mauritania, Angola, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Malawi, Lesotho, and Swaziland.

  3. Statistics • In the Asian, African and Latin American countries, well over 500 million people are living in absolute poverty. • Every year 15 million children die of hunger. • That’s about 41,096 children dying per day. • 923 million people across the world are hungry • In the world, more than 1.4 billion people are earning less than $1.25 per day 

  4. Why should we even care?! • So many people are dying of a very preventable problem • Famine is killing more people than it should be • More should be being done about this issue

  5. Who’s Helping? • The Network for Good is helping feed the starving people in Africa • An organization called Africa Aid is also helping to solve this problem • Unicef is also helping the cause
