  2. Introduction • Rhinos are the largest land animal after the elephants. The white and black Rhino has two horns. The horn in front is longer than the back horn. The front horn defenses it from predators like lions. There are a few types of Asian Rhinos have only one horn. A black rhino

  3. Description • They live up to about 35 years in the wild. • They are about 4 and a half feet. • Rhinos are 750 pounds to 8000 pounds.

  4. Diet • All rhinos are herbivores and only eat grass.

  5. Population • There are 2400 black rhinos, 7500 white rhinos, 400 Sumatran rhinos, 100 Javan rhinos and 2000 Indian rhinos.

  6. Threats • The rhinos are usually poached by humans for their horns to make ivories. Some people believed that these horns are good medicines.But, if their horns are cut off, it cannot defend itelf. • Sometimes the males and females fight for reproduction. They may die because their horns infect their wounds. Also, the calf is born 14 to 18 months later.

  7. Conservation efforts • Countries have banned poaching of rhinos. But some poaches still hunt for their horns.
