The Rhino is an amazing animal, but it is endangered. Rhinos have been hunted almost to extinction by poachers. These illegal hunters remove the dead rhino’s horn and other body parts, leaving the rest of the corpse behind. The polished horns are sold for a very high price on the market. • Many animals are hunted for their body parts, but there are less than 3,000 rhinos living in the wild.
Rhinos are also endangered because of habitat loss. Where rhinos live, their sleeping, eating, and breeding grounds, are being destroyed. Humans are building towns and cities and rhinos, as well as many other species, have nowhere to go.
