Our mission Through an integrated approach, Deltares develops know-how for innovative solutions, to make living safe, clean and sustainable, worldwide, with special emphasis, but not exclusively, on delta’s • Delta Technology • Water, ground and sub-soil issues are not just about technology but a combination of: • different policy agenda’s • multidisciplinary approach and interests • role of environment • Deltares supplies answers to social issues of living in deltas, coastal areas and river basins by combining technical expertise with an understanding of political, administrative, and social-economic processes • Technical expertise and social scientists under one roof!
Deltares: joint forces In January 2008, four Dutch partners bundled their expertise: • WL | Delft Hydraulics – hydrological engineering and integrated water management • GeoDelft -geo-engineering • Part ofTNO Building & Subsurface – ground and groundwater • Part of Rijkswaterstaat(RIKZ, RIZA en DWW)-integrated water management and hydrological engineering. • >800 FTE • Annual turnover ~100M€ • Continuously involved in ~ 20 FP funded projects • E.g: Conscience, KnowSeas, Micore, Riskbase, Scenes, Spicosa, Modelkey, .…etc.
