10. “Little did they know” • Today we still have many people that do not understand this saying in Revelation • Many misconceptions of what it teaches • We will look into Revelations 6 for a few answers and applications for today

Revelations 6: • 1 And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.  2And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given to him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

Declaration of GodLamb Opens the 1st Seal • Not merely a remark of what God will do but his actions – the sentence will be executed - Christian enemies will have to face the rider of the white horse • Come and See – The gospel system of swiftness and purity - Jesus Christ the Rider • Wearing a crown – conquering the Jew first and also the Gentiles as well, spreading throughout the whole earth

Lamb Opens 2nd Seal •  3 And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.  4And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given to him a great sword. • Red Horse– War – persecution –Martyrdom of Saints – Armies of the Enemy – Vespasian or Artabanus or other evil leaders

And I beheld, and see a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.  6And I heard a voice in the middle of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see you hurt not the oil and the wine.   • A Black Horse – famine - - Claudius – Ax 11:28 predicted by Agabus – great dearth throughout the entire land – food would be scarce • They cried with a loud voice for help

15. Lamb Opens Fourth Seal •  8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given to them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.   • Pale Horse – a day of reckoning for God and for the Saints – punishment – evil will be defeated – prosecutors will face judgment

Lamb Opens 5th Seal • 9And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:  10And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, do you not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?   • Righteous will receive white robes – purity and triumph – rest will be given – persecutors will receive just reward for their evils

But this was not the end but it was coming in time too • 12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, see, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;  13And the stars of heaven fell to the earth, even as a fig tree casts her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.  14And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.  15And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every slave, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;  16And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

18. They were sore afraid • They preferred any kind of death but at the hands of the creator – the Almighty • They shookwith anxiety and fear • The face of him that sat on the throne could no man bare ( Notice Revelations 1 ) • It was Christ, the author of Christianity- he was doing the judging, condemning, and destroying of them for their evil persecutions of his followers

19. Revelations 6:17 • For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

20. Hebrews 10:31 • It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

21. So – Who Shall Be Able To Stand? • Can a man stand up to God • Isaiah 13:10 For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine. • Isaiah talked of the great destruction in his day

22. Isaiah 34:4 And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falls off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree. • Even used some similar wording of destruction used in Rev. 6

23. Ezekiel 32:7 And when I shall put you out, I will cover the heaven, and make the stars thereof dark; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give her light. • Even used some similar wording of destruction used in Rev. 6 • God did know how to handle his business, using Armies to do his bidding, and then causing them to collapse because of their evil pride - Man cannot stand against God

24. So How Will YOU Stand ? • The Kings and mighty men tried to hide from God – did that help them, did it help Jonah • If you can’t hide what will you do? • The truth is if we can’t stand up to him and we can’t hide from him – • WE BETTER BE READY TO FACE HIM

25. How To Be Ready ! • ASong to learn how • All To Jesus I Surrender, All To Him I Freely Give I will ever love and trust Him,In His presence daily live. • Does the Lord ask too much of us? • Can we do his will daily? • Is it something that we want to do? • Do we show our love and trust to him?

26. I Surrender All • All to Jesus I surrender;Humbly at His feet I bow, Worldly pleasures all forsaken;Take me, Jesus, take me now Do we really surrender to him and humbly bow to his will? Do worldly pleasures still pull us away? Do we really want Jesus as the center of our lives or is it only talk?

27. I Surrender All • All to Jesus, I surrender;Make me, Savior, wholly Thine;Let me feel the Holy Spirit,Truly know that Thou art mine. • Do we want to be wholly his? • Do we try to cling to worldliness? • Do we trust the Spirit by trusting his will? • Do we know that we belong to him?

28. I Surrender All • All to Jesus, I surrender;Lord, I give myself to Thee;Fill me with Thy love and power;Let Thy blessing fall on me. • Have you surrendered to Jesus? • Have you really given yourself to HIM? • Do you have HIM in your heart? • Put your total trust in him today !
