PRO • Nassau grouper reported • Close Bajo de Cico year round to allow rebuilding of Nassau (monitoring?) • Queen conch observed – year round closure to allow rebuilding of conch • Yellowfin observed – year round closure to allow rebuilding of yellowfin • EFH, HAPC year round closure to protect functionality of area as spawning site
ISSUES • Use of traps in the area (no enforcement)
Management at Bajo de Cico • Shared area (compatibility in 2007) • No bottom tending gear year-round • No nets • Total closure December-February each year • Spear, hook and line fishing allowed
