1) Master, carest thou not that we perish? • Storms will come (Eph. 5:16; Ac. 14:22) • The Lord does care (I Pet. 5:6-7; I Jn. 4:9-10) • He will act in his own time, in his own way, for our good (II Cor. 12:7-10; Rm. 8:28)
2) Why are ye so fearful? How is it that ye have no faith? • Storms are to strengthen our faith (Ja. 1:2-4; Rm. 5:3-5) • Worry cripples our faith (Mk. 4:18-19; Ph. 4:6-7) • Genuine faith produces peace (Col. 3:15; Jn. 14:27)
3) What manner of man is this, that even the winds and sea obey him? • He is the Son of God (Mt. 16:16; Rm. 1:3-4) • He has the power to calm the storms and deliver us to safety (Col. 1:16-17; II Tim. 4:16-18; Gal. 1:3-4)
