Shift to Learning Activities • Synchronous -> leads to transmissive pedagogy (boring lectures) • Asynchronous -> constructive learning activities engage learners • Most courses have a blend 1s : 2a Synch -> pacing and presentations Asynch -> assignments and reading • Need to build on each other
