1 st Phase Model Department

This report highlights the progress and achievements of the Institute of Food Sciences & Technology during the self-assessment cycle. It includes the submission of draft reports, suggestions from the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), final draft submission, visit of assessment team, and submission of the executive summary and implementation plan. Dr. Saifullah Khan Assistant Professor Incharge Plant Tissue Culture Division, International Centre for Chemical & Biological Sciences HEJ Research Institute of Chemistry, Karachi.

Status of Implementation Plan(1st Phase) Institute of Food Sciences & Technology • One Associate Professor and Three Lecturers were appointed. • One faculty member completed three months short training at University of Putra Malaysia. • Two Technical Staff members are nominated for short training at South China Agriculture University China. • Twenty research papers has been published in HEC recognized journals. • Institute has provided training to local community through NAVTEC program. • Linkages with different industries has been established. • The proposal for the construction of two classrooms, one food chemistry lab and one food microbiology laboratory has been forwarded to SAU authorities.
