  4. Review of Legacy Wheel • School-based mental health programs broken down into functions • Data is analyzed by CMT and decisions are made on what to continue • Eliminate functions that will be sustained by other funding sources • Work on functions that still need to be sustained

  5. Blended Funding Share responsibility among community partners, school districts, state agencies, and social service non-profits to continue services in the red, yellow, andgreenzones.

  6. School Medicaid Administrative Claiming (SMAC) Guide • Search state SMAC guide on various websites: • Health and Human Services • State Department of Education • Office of Exceptional Children • Review guide to determine services your state’s Medicaid reimbursement services allowable under IDEA and/or other school-based services

  7. Questions to Ask: School Medicaid Programs • What services is my school district currently billing Medicaid for – school health and/or IEP-related services? • Examples: Administrative services, outreach, screening, individual and group counseling, nursing, assessments, speech, PT/OT, personal care, special transportation • How are Special Education programs funded in my state for schools districts through Medicaid? • Examples: Psychological educational assessments, IEP related services, 504 plans • What services could my school district bill for that they are not?
