Solid Mechanical Simulation by given assignment with specific parameters Chavdar O. Spasov An Exam University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy 19/20/2010
Outline Part I : Maine points in the model’s geometry : - Sketch the model - Different boundary conditions and materials - The material specific stress and strain values - Animation of the processes Part II : View and explanation about the results from the simulation : - Viewing and organization of all final results - Behaviour of the materials in different situation about material 2 (different values of the applied force)
Part I.I: Sketching Assignment’s parameters : Beam with dimensions 1200x40x100 mm which is fixed and loaded as is shown in (firg.1). Beam material is homogeneous bilinear hardening with yield strength 80 MPa and Poisson’s ratio ν=0.27 (fig. 2).
Part I.I: Sketching Step One Creating our sketch using cut tools which are on the left site of the window program
Part I.I: Sketching Step Two When we finish our sketch we extrude it to create the final look of the wonted picture
Part I.I: Sketching (Special cases) Case 1 (TREE IN ONE) Case 2 (INDIVIDUALY ONE BY ONE)
Part I.2: Boundary condition and materials Choosing simulation after already done geometry Simulation button situate at fight up corner (red button with letter s in the middle)
Part I.2: Boundary condition and materials Making mesh (right click on the mesh button end choosing Preview Mesh)
Part I.2: Boundary condition and materials Adding more property to material Click on the Engineering Data button at the top of the window For adding property Add/Remove after that Bilinear Isotropic Hardening
Part I.2: Boundary condition and materials Adding more property to material Choosing different properties as Yield Strength and Tangent Modulus
Part I.2: Boundary condition and materials Adding more property to material Bilinear Isotropic Hardening MATERIAL 1 Tangent Modulus 2*105 MP MATERIAL 3 Tangent Modulus 0.04*106 MP MATERIAL 2 Tangent Modulus 1.2*105 MP MATERIAL 4 Tangent Modulus 0.008*107 MP
Part I.3: Stress and Strain values Choosing New Analysis for the simulation (Static Structural)
Part I.3: Stress and Strain values Choosing the supported and loaded areas using Load and Supports button Choose Fixed support and where to be applied (GEOMETRY – 2 FASES)
Part I.3: Stress and Strain values Choosing type of load which is Force and his Magnitude (2000 N) and where it should be applied
Part I.4: Solution and Simulation Type of solution important for this case Stress (von Misses) for Material 2 Strain (von Misses) for Material 3 Deformation process for Material 4
Part I.4: Solution and Simulation Solved solutions for all tree cases (pushing button Solve) Material 2 Material 3 Material 4
Part 2.1 : View and Organization Organization after all types of simulations in one BIG project included all 3 models
Part 2.1 : View and Organization View result for Material 2 View result for Material 3 View result for Material 4
Part 2.1 : Material’s 2 behaviour Applied force 2000 N Applied force 5000 N Applied force 25000 N
