  2. Background • California’s unemployment rate is the second highest in nation • 55 and older have highest unemployment since WWII • Older workers take longer to find jobs and need tailored job seeking help

  4. Project Overview To address the specific needs of the 50 to early 60s job seeker through specialized career workshops, one-on-one career counseling sessions and access to a collection of print and multi-media materials.

  8. What are the numbers? • 84 career subject oriented books, Books-on-CD and DVDs purchased and circulated. • 184 Workshop Participants – average of 26 per workshop • 56 One-on-One Career Counseling Participants

  9. Evaluation Results • Exceeded our expectations of 80% yes • Workshops – 96% yes • One-on-One Career Counseling–94% yes

  10. What’s Next • 3-month post-workshop check-up survey via email • Continue funding of dedicated collection through Friends of the Library • Pursue more career and technology programs through partnerships and grants • Facilitate networking opportunities at the library
