Comments and opinions Put a stop to wasting taxpayers money, support the frontline staff that are doing the job, then all will benefit and our health service will be healthy You all should be grateful for your positions and salaries etc …..YOU do not depend on assistance with Winter Fuel and TV Licence (stealth tax for the BBC) and other OAP benefits. The Kings Fund has obviously not spoken to the ordinary elderly receiving it. Cannabis could help the NHS funding crisis I just wish someone could get into our Minister's skulls how incredibly self-defeating and short-sighted they are being -- not only in the NHS, but also in almost every other public service. A&E cost of dealing with sports injuries could be covered by an add on to the fee / subscriptions already paid by people participating in sports Is it now time to hold Jeremy Hunt, and NHS England to account?
Safeguarding I FEAR FOR MY LIFE SOMETIMES. I AM VERY SCARED AND FRIGHTENED. I am deeply concerned and upset about if I may be removed from patients records if I abuse their [surgery] attendance policy for missing appointments without valid explanation. There is an insidious Bullying Culture [at my trust] My treatment at ….health care service has been diabolical. I now do not trust the health service & would rather die than approach my GP PLEASE [help] from a loving mother who cannot go through this again, I don't know were else to go I am homeless and need health care but not registered with a GP. I lost my job because they said I had mental health issues but I don’t. I have tried everything but no-one helps me. I thank you from my heart just to have replied to me, but I need the truth and these cruel people to answer WHY.
PPI Training Needs Survey 2018 - results • 109 respondents • 64.2% had not attended a PPI workshop • 48% had not used the resources on KfH • 54.2% had been involved in HIW 2017 • 52.7% explicitly stated that they would like training sessions.
Top suggestions from the survey • Health literacy awareness • Identifying high quality information • Collaborating with public library colleagues • Supporting the production of high quality information • Having difficult conversation with patients • Using the Knowledge for Healthcare PPI resources
What next for the PPI project? 2018 and beyond… • Active promotion of the MOU – HEE, SCL and Reading Agency • Health Information Week #HIW2018 • Updating of the PPI resources on KfH • Roll out of health literacy awareness training • Advocating the use of evidence in the development of health information • Case studies
Examples of best practice • Knowledge for Healthcare ideas bank • BMA Patient information awards
What are the strategic priorities for PPI? • Securing our role in the PPI agenda • Build confidence in our ability • Overcoming system barriers • Working in collaboration across sectors • Involvement in joining up health with social care • Empowering people to self manage conditions and care
The winning solution (my utopia) We will talk about population outcomes or individual outcomes We will actively share best practice All health information will be evidence based We will confidently know who can help patients and the public information needs across library sectors People will say how much our help mattered to them
