Florida CHOICES • Career Information Delivery System (CIDS) • DOE purchases from Bridges/XAP Company • Provided free in the state of Florida • Florida-specific version of CHOICES • Non-internet version of CHOICES • In use for over 25 years Used by: • Middle and High schools • Adult Education Programs • Community Colleges and Universities • Other State Agencies

  4. Middle School Promotion§1003.4156, F.S. Students must complete a course in career and education planning in 6th, 7th, or 8th grade.

Career and EducationPlanning Course • 8 new standards (no longer 30 competencies) • Completion of an personalized • academic and career plan • Must emphasize technology or the application of technology in career fields • Must emphasize entrepreneurship skills • Beginning in the 2014-2015 academic year, must include information from the Department of Economic Opportunity's economic security report as described in s. 445.07 www.fldoe.org/workforce/ced
