  3. Laissez-Faire Economics • Economic philosophy begun by Adam Smith in his book, Wealth of Nations • Stated that business and the economy would run best with no interference from the government. • Also known as capitalism

  4. The Communist Manifesto! *Begin Guided Notes* • A book written by: Karl Marx and Frederich Engels in 1848

The Communist Manifesto • Marx believed: conditions would lead to a communist revolution • According to the book, those who control wealth and businesses “In this country, you gotta make the money first. Then when you get the money, you get the power. Then when you get the power, then you get the women.” -Scarface

  6. A Workers’ Revolt • The manifesto was a prediction that WORKERS WOULD REVOLT against the wealthy….

  8. They divided the world into two groups The Revolution was imminent! And would be WORLDWIDE • Working class=Proletariat • Class with money=Bourgeoisie
