The Problems That Thailand Faces • Few children go to proper schools • Over-population of students in one class • Non age-appropriate classes • Bad education • Many children are forced to take drugs
Why I chose Thailand • Donating money ourselves • Possible to help • Poor in Education • www.thailandhotels.mobi/thailand-pictures/thailand-flag/thailand-flag-01.jpg • .
Is Education important, Why? • Education gives knowledge of world around us • It helps us give opinions and also debate on many things • It also teaches us the right behavior, manners and how to lead and live our lives • It equips us with all things needed to make our dreams true • Opens opportunities to a great career • Also wipes out all the bad beliefs • It builds a confidence to make decisions throughout your life • It tells you how to accept failures and successes
TIME LINE • 1283 king create Thai alphabet • 1360 created first textbook in Thai • 1851 printing press arrived • Books were made • 1882 first Thai school opened, only boys allowed • 1897 girls allowed • 1960 7 years education • 2006 computers and bilingual teachers came to Thailand • www.sunny.hu/thailand/thai_language_dictionary/writing_thai1.gif
Children not going to school • 90000 primary aged students are not taking school • Children are forced to work instead of go to school • Girls are forced in labor
Over-population In classes • More than 50 a class • Only one teacher • 20 students is hard www2.warwick.ac.uk/fac/soc/wie/research/wreru/teaching/distancelearning/mastudents/v-star_thailand.jpg
Non aged classes • Not in the right age • Ex: when you are 7th grade you are in 4th
Not proper education • Still concern in education • Not relevant to their education in future • Mostly minority group problem
Children forced to take drugs • Teachers forced children to take drugs • Said that it makes you feel good http://sapientape.files.wordpress.com/2009/11/drugs1.jpg
Other problems • Many children dropping out in mid and high • 1 million have no birth registration documents • Many sex workers in Thailand are under age or in labor
Minority groups • Groups of Thai tribes • Need to get billingual education to fit in their http://www.isgfthailand.org/images/hc_4.JPG
How these problems happen • Mainly poverty • Less schools built • Don’t care about child’s life
Thailand overview • Great country • Rich culture • Ancient history • Beautiful nature • But many gaps in their education
Local Solution • Unicef, Unesco Hope are trying to help by giving kids money to go to school • They are trying to build more teacher schools • Thai government has meeting ever week how to get better education
Personal Statement • We can talk to Unicef, and other buisness and raise charity • Make an organization by ourselves, go to Thailand , encourage them to education www.association-internationale-jeunesse.com/images/enfant-soldat-unicef.jpg http://www.nych.net/wp-content/2007/12/unicef.jpg
What Thailand aims for • No drugs • Proper education • Enjoy education • Everybody taking education • Right number in one class www.peawareness.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/no-drugs.gif alianamirza.files.wordpress.com/2007/10/31-01.jpg
