2. Once upon a time a girl named Hollie dreamed of being a princess. To escape her evil witch for a neighbor her family was poor and didn’t have money to buy a new house. 1

3. Hollie’s father just got back from town. He brought a news paper from town. Hollie read it out loud “A princess is wanted contest held on May 20 they must be there buy May 18 to participate also you must by 12 to 16 years of age her family will get a house and 20 gold coins”. Her father said “Hollie what do you think?”. She quickly said “yes”. 2

4. She went outside to fetch water. Her neighbor said “ if you win tell them I’m your family or else I will curse your family for eternity”. 3

5. Hollie ran inside to say ”lets leave now”. On May 18 they arrived. Soon the group got on the pathway to the castle. Timidly they nocked on the door. It was answered by a maid. There father said we are here for are daughter to become princess. 4

6. Soon it was the big day all stood in the great hall and a table with things such as string, wood, and paint were laid out. The queen came in and said “You will have to make a toy”. Hollie was the last one up there when she got up there was a string, 2 chunks of wood and paint she was escorted to her room. 5

7. When Hollie got there she had glue and a paint brush in her room. She painted her chunks bright pink and glued the ends of her string to each chunk of wood. Later when it was dry she came up with a game you hold on to the wood and make the rope spin over and under you. You jump when it gets to your feet. 6

8. Now it was her turn to present she explained the game. The Queen asked “ what is it called?”. Hollie hesitated but said “Jump Rope”. The queen announced Hollie won. Hollie was overwhelmed with excitement. 7

9. Hollie her family and Prince James lived happily ever after. 8
