  2. What do you remember about sentences? A sentence is a group of words that tells a complete idea. A sentence begins with a capital letter. A sentence ends with punctuation. The naming part of a sentence does two things: • It names a person, place, animal, or thing. • It tells who or what the sentence is about. The order of the words in a sentence must make sense. A sentence has an action part.

  3. What is a telling sentence? • A telling sentence tells something. • It is a statement. • It begins with a capital letter. • It usually ends with a period (.).

  4. Example of a Telling Sentence • Grady loves to swim.

  5. Example of a Telling Sentence • He swims with Toto.
