UK Online Centres • Range of organisations make up the UK online centres network. Some are privately owned, others are based in workplaces, the community or voluntary sector. • It aims to get one million more Britons, who do not use the internet, online by the end of 2013 • All UK online centres must offer their users free (or very low cost) access to computers and the internet along with help and support to enable people to use them.
GO ON is the new brand name for UK Online courses • Re - Launch 01st July 2011 • Free Basic IT Courses.
Fire Brigades Union registered UK Online centre. • Supporting employees, members and their friends and family to learn IT skills and use the internet safely. • Centre Code is 3450848.
Gives employees, members and public access to all the courses completely free of charge. • Once registered on GO ON website, automatically tracks learners progression and a certificate is generated on completion • Contribute to the FBU National ULF Outcomes
Online Basics is a suite of six free courses • Using with a keyboard, • Using with a mouse, • Using email, • Using the internet safely • Using online searches • Using public service
Learners can personalise their settings • From changing colours and fonts the size of type, learners can make their Go Onexperience ideal for them. • They can even use an audio function which reads the text on screen, so it’s perfect for anyone with visual impairments, dyslexia or other literacy problems.
