What happens in a persons body when they get Hepatitis C ? Hepatitis C is a inflammation [in-fluh-may-shun] a kind of irritation or infection of the liver. If the liver is affected or gets scared from inflammation or infection the liver can’t effectively do all of its jobs.
What happens in a persons body when they get HIV/AIDS HIV destroys part of your immune system, specifically it affects a type of white blood cell called the T-cell. T-cells are one type of fighter cell in the blood that help the body fight off all kinds of germs and diseases. It takes many years for HIV to damage enough T-cells for that person to get sick and develop AIDS.
Signs and symptoms of Hepatitis C. 1. Tiredness2. flu-like symptoms [throwing up, etc.]3. yellowing of skin and whites of eyes4. belly pain5. dark brown pee6. itchiness with no rash7. poor appetite
Signs and symptoms of HIV/AIDS. Most people don’t feel any different after they are infected with HIV. In fact infected people often do not experience symptoms for years. But they can feel or have:1. swollen lymph nodes2. weight loss3. fevers4. infections in mouth5. diarrhea6. tired for no reason at alleventually the virus can infect all of the body's organs including the brain making it hard for the person to think and remember things.
How to avoid getting Hepatitis C 1. By using clean needles2. By not drinking to much alcohol3. by not taking illegal drugs or medications4. by not being exposed to poisons 5. having protected sex6. by not sharing razors, etc.
How to avoid getting HIV/AIDS 1. Having protected sex2. By using clean needles and syringes3. when somebody is bleeding wear gloves just in case they have HIV/AIDS4. etc.
The similarities between Hepatitis C and HIV and AIDS 1. They both get passed through body fluids and blood. 2. anybody can get Hepatitis C and HIV and AIDS 3. babies can get Hepatitis C and HIV and AIDS from their mothers
Differences between Hepatitis C and HIV and AIDS 1. HIV attacks your immune system and Hepatitis C attacks your liver2. mostly children and young adults get Hepatitis C and anybody can get HIV and AIDS 3. there are different types of hepatitis [ex: hep c, hep a and hep b] and only HIV/AIDS
My Action Plan 1. I’m never going to use a dirty needle or syringe3. I’m not going to drink alcohol at all 4.I’m not going to take illegal drugs or medications
Three things I learnt 1. I learned that you can get Hep C and HIV the same way2. I learnt that Hep C attacks your liver and HIV attacks your immune system 3. I learnt how you get Hep C
