  3. Meeting Agenda • OPENING Call to Order Pledge of Allegiance • AREA Agreement Community Forum • A. Discussion of AREA Agreement Extension • B. Discussion of Warrant Articles re: AREA Agreement (AREA Agreement Extension and Study Committee) • C. Update on Pre-Study Committee • D. Update on Contacts With Surrounding School Districts • III. PUBLIC COMMENT • The Board invites the public to comment on the educational experiences they have had with regard to MVMS and GHS. The New Boston School Board wishes to use this feedback to include in its discussions with the Goffstown School Board about potential revisions to the AREA Agreement should the town vote to continue that arrangement.

  4. AREA Agreement Extension • AREA Review Committee unanimously approved a motion recommending a one year extension to the AREA Agreement. • State School Board of Education approved this amendment • Voters will see a Warrant Article at the Annual School District Meeting (February 7th) for the approval of the amended AREA Agreement

  5. What the Extension will do: • Continue to provide a meaningful dialogue between the three school districts when discussing the revision of the AREA Agreement. • Provide more time when researching educational options for our New Boston students. • Allow us to be more thoughtful and a little less rushed in the process.

  6. AREA Agreement Warrant Articles: • 2 AREA Agreement Warrant Articles likely to be on the ballot in March: • To adopt the modifications to the AREA Agreement as recommended by the AREA Review Committee and approved for submission to the voters by the New Hampshire State Board of Education. • To approve a Long Range Study Committee to help in identifying and investigating New Boston's educational options. The wording for these Articles are still being written.

  10. What’s Next: • Regular School Board Meeting – January 11th, 2012 7pm (NBCS Library) • AREA Review Committee Meeting - January 26th 6:00pm (SAU Building in Goffstown) • School Board Deliberative Session 7pm February 7th, 2012 (snow date Feb 9th, 2012) in NBCS Gym • Voting Day March 13th 2012
