Using the floor and wall section supplied divide the floor section in half by drawing aline down the center from the protruding wall to the outside edge of the floor. One half will be used to install the hardwood flooring and the other half will be used to install the ceramic tile.
Begin with the hardwood flooring for best results. Place a mark ½ inch from the wall along the length of the wall and snap or draw a line using a chalk line or straight edge.
Measure and cut a piece of flooring underlay to fit over the section of the floor that will be covered by the hardwood flooring. Use a staple gun to secure the underlay in place being careful not to cover the mark.
Select a hardwood floor strip that is true (straight) then use a brad nailer or 1½ inch finishing nails to facenail this piece onto the floor½ inch from the grove edge of the strip and a second nail ½ inch from the tongue edge of the strip.
