  2. TOOTH HAS BEEN PREPARED

  3. SELECT THE TEMPORARY CROWN FOR PLACEMENT

  4. PICK OUT SHELL WHICH FITS EASILY OVER TOOTH • Concavity of medial and distal fits the convexity of adjacent teeth

  5. ACRYLIC UERS – SKIP TO SLIDE 8. BIS-ACRYL USERS, PLEASE FOLLOWSLIDES 5 TO 7 • Dispense a few drops of primer into mixing bowl

  6. BIS-ACRYL – SLIDE 6 • Coat the interior wall of shell using applicator brush; light cure for 30 seconds • Apply Bis-Acryl material into the shell • Seat onto the prepared tooth and have patient close teeth gently together to assure alignment

  7. BIS-ACRYL – SLIDE 7 • Apply Bis-Acryl material into the shell • Seat onto the prepared tooth and have patient bite gently together to assure alignment • Once proper occlusion, allow the Bis-Acryl material to set following manufacturer’s guidelines • Proceed to the finishing steps

  8. ACRYLIC USERS: MIX THE LIQUID AND POWDER Mix liquid and powder using mixing dish • OR Use our unit-dose pack

  9. DISPENSE RESIN INTO SHELL • From mixing bowl or unit-dose pack dispense resin into shell

  10. PLACE OVER TOOTH

  11. PLACE CROWN OVER PREP AND GENTLY PUSH DOWN -- HAVE PATIENT BITE LIGHTLY • Take instrument and pull excess material away

  12. LIFT OFF AND ON TO AVOID LOCK-ON

  13. Allow a little time for resin to set.As it gets tacky, begin to lift on and off to avoid lock- on. • Allow to harden during the next minute for fast cure or a few minutes for slower cure product • Lock on can occur due to undercuts therefore lifting on and off is important

  14. AFTER RESIN HAS SET, TAKE CARBON PAPER AND HAVE PATIENT BITE DOWN

  15. ADJUST THE OCCLUSION

  16. LIFT OFF CROWN AND NOTICE THE GOOD MARGINS

  17. NOW MARK THE MARGINS WITH A PENCIL

  18. MARK THE ADJACENT CONTACTS

  19. AT THIS POINT, YOU CAN GIVE CROWN TO THE ASSISTANT TO TRIM STARTING FROM THE CORNERS

  20. TRIM AND TRY IN

  21. CHECK THE MARGINS AND PLACE CROWN

  22. TEMPORARY PLACEMENT TAKES JUST MINUTES • Temporaries don’t come off between appointments • Adjacent teeth are held in place, reducing adjustments of permanent crown • No impressions needed to place temporary • Saves time
