Safety • Generally TSS recognised as having excellent safety behaviour by the region and PLA. We got a cheque for £1000 as a result. Keep it up • Each group’s safety coordinators must keep reinforcing this • One bad period, more points than the rest of the year • Region recognises the particular problem of coxless boats not steered from bow keeping a lookout. Bowman to ensure lookout TSS AGM 2008
Chairman’s Report • Alec Hodges • Andy Ripley not standing as President • Good things • Alan Campbell and Tash Howard at Olympics • Ali Leighton-Crawford at World Champs • Senior 1 pennant and Vernon Trophy at HORR • VIII performed really well despite Henley • Challenges • Sponsorship • Boat condition – being addressed • Club responsibility • Membership debts TSS AGM 2008
Club Organisation • A number of areas are suffering from lack of management, Exec Committee were trying to manage but not succeeding • Steward’s Committee - Frances Barton has done excellent job, now resigned • Building Committee (Cat Beeckmans plus vets), has done a lot of good work, but a lot more is to be done • Membership (Rob Ashworth, and someone from each group) Need more assistance for all TSS AGM 2008

Captain’s Report Excellence: domestically • Winning Fours Head • Winning the S1 pennant and Vernon Trophy at HORR • Trigger winning the Visitors’ Challenge Cup at HRR • HRR finalists: men’s eight and Ali L-C quad • TSS B qualifing for the Fawley with several J15s on board • National champions: Lwt 4x, Wlwt 1x, J15 quad • National medallists: Wlwt 4x, J151x, 4x • HWR win in Bourne Cup W4x (composite) • 60 other regatta wins from Munich to Maidenhead Junior • 45 wins at head races TSS AGM 2008

Update on the Boathouse • Planning Permission given at last • Quotes sought for three months • Building and slab about £70K • Retaining wall, paving etc about £160K! • Need a cheaper way of doing the ancillary work TSS AGM 2008
