TASK: Write a description suggested by the picture(opening) • Begin with a simple sentence to introduce setting • Zoom in on red square and describe the soldier’s feelings: • Include a sentence that uses a comparative adjective to compare the role as a soldier to having a ‘normal’ job. Then use a superlative to emphasise this feeling • Use a so, so sentence, for example, ‘I’m so proud, so elated to be fighting for my country.’ • Zoom out and use the senses to describe what can be heard and seen • Zoom in on yellow square and state who the letter is from and what has been said • In the distance… (change the mood and end on a cliffhanger)
