Lion’s Letter A letter will be posted on our website twice a month: Lion’s Letter The Lion’s Letter will be posted under the newsletter tab on the Oak Cliff Secondary web page This letter will keep you up to date on activities on campus and needs for the campus
TITLE 1 • This is the part of No Child Left Behind that supports programs in schools and school districts to improve the learning of children from low-income families. • The U.S. Department of Education provides Title I funds to school districts based on the number of children who qualify for the nationwide lunch program.
TITLE 1 • Addresses students most at risk of failing to achieve state standards • Allocation is based on # of students receiving free and reduced lunches as a % of school population • Annual application process • Highly regulated • We need 100% participation with filling out lunch applications. To be done in Hanson Hall tonight.

Schedules • Preliminary schedules are given tonight, white copy • All students will receive a new colored copy the first day of school
Electives/schedule changes • Schedule change forms will be available tonight • Not all changes will be possible • Master schedule was designed based on electives chosen last spring and classes could be full • No schedule change forms accepted past August 22nd

Arrival and Dismissal Drop off and pick up are along the outside lane when entering from I-35 Students may wait in any area until the doors open at 7:50 There should be NO balls or games played during arrival and dismissal for student safety Breakfast is served daily from 7:30-7:50. No student will be served after 7:50.
After 4:15 • Teachers are on duty until 4:15. • Students are expected to do whatever was instructed by the parent at 4:15. • Powerhouse will take secondary students on the elementary campus. Parent is to set up ahead. • Afterschool All Stars is available but must be set up by the parent. See table by coaches. • Please know where your student should be at 4:15. There are too many options for the office staff to know where each student may be.
From Day One: • Students must have their ID badge each day. • Students must be in full uniform, including belt each day. Jackets must be LS approved. • No food may be delivered for lunch unless brought by a parent (NO Uber Eats). • No food may be sold on campus unless it is part of an approved fundraiser (afterschool only) • Supply Lists will come home from each teacher the first week of school. Come ready with basic supplies on day one.
