Shawn Klush, the top U.S. Elvis Tribute Artist (ETA) will headline Saturday night's Las Vegas-style show, "Elvis: Half Heaven, Half Heartache." Also appearing will be Mark Anthony, 2011 Pocono Mountains Elvis Festival Champion. "Saturday's night big show is one of the 'peaks' of our third-annual Elvis Festival," said Jason Sherry, president of Sherry Management, LLC, and festival director. "Following Shawn and Mark's performances, the fun moves to our late-night 'Spooktacular' Halloween Costume Party. And, new this year, Friday night features a 'Tribute to Rock and Roll History' show with tributes to Elton John, Rod Stewart, Tom Jones, Mick Jagger and of course Elvis, and, the Elvis Tribute Artist competition will occur throughout the weekend." Every Elvis Tribute Festival crowns a champion from among the many ETAs that enter the contest. They will be competing for $5,250 in prize money during the 2012 Pocono Mountains Elvis Festival. The winner will represent the Festival at the 2013 Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Championship, which is produced by Elvis Presley Enterprises and held in Memphis, Tenn., every August during Elvis Week.
Klush started his career performing for audiences in the Pocono region. He was named the 2005 grand champion at the World Elvis Tribute Artist Competition. In August 2007, Graceland selected Shawn as the winner of Elvis Presley Enterprises' first Ultimate Tribute Artist Contest. All of this notoriety led to starring roles in many top Elvis shows, including the "Elvis Birthday Tribute Tour" every January. Friday night's "Tribute to Rock and Roll History" show features many of the most popular Elvis Tribute Artists, as well as tributes to other great icons of rock and roll. Fans will be treated to Dwight Icenhower's tribute to Elton John and Steve Bobbitt as Rod Stewart and Irv Cass as Tom Jones. Anthony will also display the swagger of Mick Jagger during his performance. Following the tribute show, festivalgoers will attend the After Hours Party, where they can meet ETAs, sing their best Elvis Tribute song with the help of the karaoke machine, and enjoy an evening as the King would have. After Saturday's heavy partying to the music of "The Greatest Entertainer of All Time," fans are invited to the Elvis Gospel Music Contest on Sunday morning. ETAs will perform selections from Elvis' catalog of inspirational songs. The final round of the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest is scheduled for Sunday afternoon. Festival guests will be able to listen to the ETAs' last song in the competition before the judges' decision, and then cheer the winner. Fans will gather Sunday night for the traditional Wrap Party held at all Elvis festivals, taking pictures and sharing their best memories of the weekend. "The 2012 Pocono Mountains Elvis Festival is just an hour from New York City and Philadelphia, so I personally invite all the King of Rock and Roll's fans to travel that short distance for a weekend of great fun," said Sherry. "The mountain air will be crisp; the trees will display their full fall colors; and you'll meet many new friends as we celebrate the life of Elvis." 2012 Pocono Mountains Elvis Festival ticket packages are now available, ranging from $79 to $169. Tickets for individual performances start at just $15.
