  1. HatchedIt.com the Social Network For Families Launches Free iPhone app (1888PressRelease) New social network focused on giving members full control over privacy and content is now fully mobile. Westfield, NJ - Hatchedit.com is proud to announce the launch of its iPhone app. While Facebook stakes its claim as "the Walmart" of social media, HatchedIt.com is a smaller social network concentrating on delivering a bespoke feel. "More people are viewing Facebook as their public identity on the Internet, and are now looking for a place where they can maintain a private identity amongst their family and close friends," explains Megan Brown, co-Founder of HatchedIt.com, a site that calls itself the free, mobile whiteboard for families. "With the launch of our free iPhone app we are now truly mobile and focused on delivering social networking capabilities to families and help them better manage and coordinate scheduling and planning their day to day lives," says Brown. Up until now there has not been a socially networked tool that focuses on the business of running a family. "We wanted to take that one 'command central' area of people's homes and mobilize it," says co-Founder Kirsten Bischoff. "It takes a village to manage a family these days, and we recognized that the sharing aspects of social networking could be used to assist people in running their homes. Whether you're a mom, a dad, a sibling or a child, the flexibility of coordinating schedules off one, mobile calendar is surprisingly groundbreaking. We are the first socially networked platform looking to deliver this type of organizational tool." Hatchedit.com launched in late 2011 with a free site and Android app. The iPhone app was released in the iTunes market this week. The site and the apps include a shareable calendar, a photo page (ie., "Pinterest for your intimate social network"), a blogroll that can be personalized, and a news feed to keep you up to date on current events.
