New Generation of Truck Leasing Industry Leaders Tackling Challenges, Forecasting More Outsourcing Ahead (1888 PressRelease) Geoff Fleming, who is part owner of Aim NationaLease, a top logistics company, and a member of the NationaLease Young Executives Club, sees increasing government regulations and manpower shortages affecting the industry, but anticipates business growth that will come with a rise in transportation outsourcing. Dealing with issues of increased government regulations, emissions control, safety, the rising cost of fuel, and compliance will be an ever-present part of the independent truck leasing industry, predicts a rising young executive in the industry. However, he sees great promise in the growth of transportation outsourcing that these forces will generate in the long run. "Our customers have come to rely upon us as transportation experts so that they can focus their efforts on their core competency," said Geoff Fleming, part owner and business development manager of Aim NationaLease headquartered in Girard, OH, in a blog posting on the NationaLease Website. "Finding the right solutions to increased government involvement will become harder and more costly," he said. "As the economy evolves and more companies outsource non-core tasks, the full service truck leasing industry will be poised to provide them with our years of experience." He also discussed the challenges of finding and employing the right people for the job. "Whether the position is technician, driver, or manager, we need to face the fact that trucking isn't a 'sexy' business." Fleming suggests that the industry find ways to encourage young people to major in logistics and supply chain management and educate the country about the opportunities the transportation industry presents.
The Aim executive discussed the value of a group such as the NationaLease Young Executives Club to those in leadership, including those in second and third-generation positions. "It gives us a chance to exchange ideas, pursue professional training, and network," Fleming said. While he originally intended to enter the investment field as a career, he said that entering the family business was "the best decision of my life."
