  3. Civic Engagement • 21,451.25 total service hours • 519 students completed service • 77 faculty/staff completed service with college sponsored program • 350 students in service-learning courses = 7,153.25 hours in the community • 131 community agency partnerships

  4. Civic Engagement • 19 President’s Volunteer Service Award Winners • Reflected in Ethical Life service-learning courses • Deeply integrated into Strategic Initiatives: • Living Learning Communities • First Year Experience

  5. Global Connectivity • Expanding Study Abroad opportunities is an important Strategic Initiative • We have seen significant increases in all indicators:

  6. Global Connectivity • Students abroad for academic purposes: • 2009-2010: 4 • 2010-2011: 22 • 2011-2012: 31 • 41% INCREASE FROM 2010-2011!

  7. Global Connectivity • Agreements with international institutions • 2009-2010: 0 • 2010-2011: 1 • 2011-2012: 4 • Seoul Women’s University, Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, University of the Sunshine Coast, Linnaeus University

  8. Global Connectivity • Connects to many other strategic initiatives as well: • Global Studies Major (6 majors currently) • Living Learning Communities • All 3 LLC’s traveling to Costa Rica this year

  9. Global Connectivity • 2011-2012 trips • John Cigliano took a group of students to Guyana • Nursing students went to Belize • Suzanne Weaver received faculty development funding to do research in Nepal

  10. Women’s Leadership • Women’s Leadership Institute is an important strategic initiative • Arlene Peltola named coordinator of WLI • Partnership with Power of Women • Women’s Business Summit hosted at CCC in June with Gloria Steinem as the keynote speaker

Women’s Leadership Institute • Undergraduate Leadership Certificate • Executive Leadership Academy • Launching series of 5 seminars on topics such as: Effective Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Effective Communication, Working for Change, and Career Strategy • Aimed at entry level working women to mid-career working women

  12. Women’s Leadership • Office of Leadership and Student Development • Leadership Office positions available 2012-2012: 281 • Average number of leadership positions per student leader: 1.39 • Percentage of traditional students in leadership positions: 26%

  14. Scholarship, Creativity, Liberal Arts • In 2011-2012 • Faculty published 10 articles, 1 book chapter and one Readers Theatre script • Faculty made 25 presentations professional conference • Faculty were featured in 2 art exhibitions, acted in 1 play

  18. Pan-European MFA inCreative Writing • 5 students in distance mentoring with published authors • Mentors include Gwyneth Lewis, Poet Laureate of Wales

  19. On-line business degree • Launch of first fully on-line undergraduate major • Business administration • Flexible: students can choose to do any proportion of courses on-line, from 0-100%

  28. Art Therapy • After one complete academic year, we have 33 majors enrolled. • Added half-time faculty in Art Therapy • Actively planning for a Master’s • Building Art Therapy Studio in Alumnae Hall

  29. MSN – Reading Hospital • Not originally a strategic initiative • Proposal solicited by Reading Hospital in December • 12 students currently enrolled
